In 2023, Thomas and Ed — two Frenchmen with a shared passion for boating who opened their first operation together in 2015 with a single boat — bought the business and revived the iconic dock across from the 1 Hotel. Today they run a fleet stretching from 27-foot sport boats to superyachts past the 100-foot mark, with ten full-time captains, all-inclusive pricing (captain and fuel included), Star Island and sunset tours, eco tours and Bimini experiences.

Beach Boat Rental has been putting Miami Beach on the water from the same address — 2400 Collins Avenue — since 1999. In 2023, Thomas and Ed bought the business and revived the iconic location across from the 1 Hotel. Both are originally from France, where boating was a common passion; they opened their first boating operation together in 2015 with one boat, and today run a fleet that stretches from 27-foot sport boats to superyachts past the 100-foot mark.
With ten full-time captains alongside them, the operation runs on honesty, kindness and trustworthiness — good energy, positive vibes and a running commentary of Miami history on every tour. Eco tours and the Bimini experience are the house specialties.

Good to know
Do I need a license to rent a boat?
No. Every rental comes with a professional USCG-licensed captain, so you can relax while the experts handle navigation and docking.
Is fuel included in the price?
Yes. Pricing is all-inclusive on fuel — no hidden fuel surcharges at the end of your trip.
What happens if there is bad weather?
Safety first: if their licensed captains deem conditions unsafe (lightning or dangerous high winds), you get a full refund or the option to reschedule.
What is the cancellation policy?
All bookings are final — no guest-initiated cancellations or rescheduling. Refunds are only provided if Beach Boat Rental cancels due to hazardous weather or mechanical issues.
What should I bring on board?
Sunscreen, towels and polarized sunglasses. A cooler with ice and bottled water is provided; you're welcome to bring food and drinks (skip red wine and staining liquids). The person who booked must present an original government-issued photo ID before boarding.
Can we bring pets or children?
Yes — family and pet-friendly. Life jackets for children are provided; give notice for pets so the vessel can be prepared.
