For over 50 years, Kabuki Springs & Spa has been a sanctuary of balance, wellness, and inner peace in the heart of Japantown. Immerse yourself in the soothing embrace of the natural thermal springs — mineral-rich waters that promote healing, ease tension, and restore balance to body and mind — or book a holistic spa treatment, from massage to facials, designed to restore harmony, beauty, and inner peace.

Before you visit

Do I need a reservation?

Yes — baths are booked by reservation only, in 2 1/2-hour increments. The start time of your reservation is flexible, but the end time is firm, and a credit card is needed to guarantee your appointment. An extra 1 1/2 hours in the baths is available for an additional $25.

Who can use the baths?

All guests must present a photo ID for entrance to the baths. Children 12–18 years old are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian; due to the nature of the communal baths, children under 11 are not permitted.

What is the cancellation policy?

A credit card is required to reserve your appointment. Please give at least 24 hours' notice for canceling or rescheduling to avoid a 50% charge on the reserving credit card.

Where do I park?

Two city-owned garages are within walking distance: the Fillmore Street Annex Garage at 1650 Fillmore Street (closest) and the Japan Center Main Garage at 1610 Geary Blvd. Rates range from $3.00–$5.00 an hour depending on the day and time.

Any health considerations?

Because heat is used to reach a state of relaxation, guests with low or high blood pressure should take care, and a light meal before your visit is recommended. Pregnant women should seek the advice of their doctor prior to a spa visit, and drugs or alcohol beforehand are strongly discouraged.
