News Cafe

News Cafe

Italian American café on Ocean Drive since 1988

What's in the News

An iconic South Beach restaurant opened more than three decades ago by restaurateur Mark Soyka. News Cafe brought a taste of European café culture to Ocean Drive when it opened as a café and newsstand in 1988 — its dishes an homage to the newspapers once sold at the stand. Within a year it was a magnet for locals and tourists alike, and its most famous daily regular was designer Gianni Versace, who walked over each morning from his Ocean Drive mansion.
