Opened for public play in 1995, the prestigious Presidio Golf Course plays 6,500 yards of challenging golf winding through beautiful eucalyptus and Monterey pine in The City's trademark hills, just minutes from downtown San Francisco. Designed with tight fairways and strategically placed bunkers, the hilly 18-hole layout offers a unique challenge for golfers of all abilities. Originally designed by Robert Wood Johnstone, the course was expanded in 1910 by Johnstone in collaboration with William McEwan, then redesigned and lengthened by the British firm of Fowler & Simpson in 1921.
