Our story

A movement toward healthier skin and self love

The name Sana derives from the Spanish word "sanar" — to heal — and carries the philosophy that everyone can become their own skin healer. Unlike traditional facials, Sana's facials are rooted in education: each one is a chance to learn more about your skin and its needs, and the monthly Skin Memberships provide a consistent support system on your skin journey.

Founder Valentina Hernandez Botero built Sana after discovering the products she had used for over 15 years were filled with endocrine disruptors and toxins. She married a love for skincare with a passion for clean beauty and wellbeing — no quick fixes or magic solutions, but a shift of mindset and a practice of patience and love toward your skin. At Sana, we believe you are your own skin healer — and everything in the studio and the shop is held to a published ban list. Among the ingredients you'll never find at Sana: parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl and laureth sulfate, synthetic fragrance, mineral oil, formaldehyde, hydroquinone, mercury, chemical UV blocks, coal tar, PEG compounds, triclosan and toluene.
