An authentic Aussie cafe in NYC
The city can feel big at times, but a local neighborhood cafe can make everything feel a bit more connected. The first Citizen opened in Chelsea in 2016, founded by Justin Giuffrida — hailing from Melbourne, the cafe capital of the world — and Andrew Geisel, from the sunny shores of the Gold Coast. The two met in New York working at a local coffee shop and bonded over their shared Australian culture. Justin's business background and Andrew's creative eye combined into an authentic Aussie cafe: food that is simple and delicious, made with the freshest local ingredients, in a social environment that welcomes everyone.
