Get lost in the stacks

1/3

It isn't just a bookstore. It's a destination.

Founder Josh Spencer started small in 2005, tucked into a downtown LA loft, after years of selling everything from clothes to cars online. Downtown was just beginning its revival, and the store grew with it. Today the flagship fills more than 22,000 square feet of the historic Spring Arts Tower with over 500,000 books and records — plus the Labyrinth upstairs, art galleries, hidden rooms and the book tunnel that made this the most photographed bookstore in the world.
