Inside the Hearst Building's basement bar

A connection to the history of San Francisco
Beneath Market Street, in the depths of the historic Hearst Building, sits the subterranean cocktail bar known as Local Edition. The room is inspired by the newspaper business of the 50's and 60's — sophisticated décor juxtaposed with vintage paper presses and clippings from the archives of San Francisco's past. It's more than just a cocktail bar: a place to relax with friends after a long day's work, a live music venue and, perhaps most importantly, a connection to the history of the city. Find it just before Third St. on Market, and head down the stairs.
