A cocktail bar that doubles as a bandstand
Local Edition is a live music venue as much as a cocktail bar. The calendar runs through the week with Bay Area outfits: ensembles playing high-energy hits from the Blue Note Records catalog, quintets honoring the hard-bop tradition of the 1960's, six-piece bands doing 1940's and 50's style rhythm & blues and jazz originals, and swing-and-vintage dance bands. A traditional jazz band even holds down every other Monday. Grab a table, order a drink, and stay for the set.
