The room
The corner the Strip is famous for
Whisky a Go Go opened on January 16, 1964 at Sunset Blvd and Clark St, and it has been billing itself the world-famous Whisky ever since — a live rock venue and bar that never turned into a museum. The calendar still runs several bills a week: touring headliners, tribute nights and stacked local lineups, with Ultimate Jam Night taking over every other Tuesday. The venue's own video archive doubles as a history lesson — Aerosmith live at the Whisky, Van Halen playing this stage in 1986, and footage of the room from 1967.
