Seller Terms

1. Who These Terms Are For
These Seller Terms apply to any account that publishes a catalog, sells products or services, or sends payable invoices or offers on Echify. They supplement the general Terms & Conditions. By enabling payments or publishing a catalog, you agree to these terms.
2. Verification and Payments Enablement
Selling on Echify has two independent unlock steps:
- Verification – we confirm that you are who your profile says you are (identity check, and for businesses a short business-details review). Verification is required to publish a catalog and grants the verified badge. It is a trust mark, not an endorsement of your products or services.
- Payments enablement – you connect a Stripe account so buyers can actually pay you. Until your Stripe account can accept charges, your items show a "contact" or "request a quote" option instead of a Buy button, and you cannot send payable invoices. Echify never collects a buyer's money on behalf of a seller who cannot receive it.
Verification may be revoked for fraud or misrepresentation, which removes the badge and the ability to publish. Charges may be paused if unresolved refunds or disputes accumulate (see Section 5).
3. Fees
Echify charges a platform fee per transaction. In the standard ("managed") mode the fee is all-in: it already includes payment processing, so the fee you see is the only deduction. Sellers who connect their own existing Stripe account ("seller-managed" mode, assigned by Echify) pay a lower platform fee plus their own Stripe processing rates.

The exact fees applying to your account — including any individually agreed rates — are always visible in the app under Settings → Payments, and are shown at the point of action before money moves. Echify may change the global fee schedule with in-app notice; individually agreed rates change only by agreement. Every charge records the fee schedule version it was priced under.
4. Refunds, Disputes, and Who Pays
Even where payment networks treat Echify as the merchant of record, you are economically responsible for your own sales. In plain terms:

If your connected balance cannot cover a refund the buyer is owed, the refund is put on hold, you are notified to fund your balance, and your ability to accept new charges may be paused until it is resolved. Echify does not front refund money.
5. Pausing and Recovery Rights
Echify may pause your ability to accept charges when open refund or dispute exposure crosses a threshold, when required by our payment partners, or during a fraud investigation. While paused, your catalog remains visible but Buy buttons and payable documents are disabled with a "charges paused" notice. New sellers may start on a weekly payout schedule for their first weeks. You authorize Echify to recover refund and dispute amounts from your connected Stripe balance, including debiting a negative balance.
6. Taxes
In seller-managed mode you are the merchant of record and responsible for your own sales tax collection and remittance. In managed mode Echify monitors marketplace-facilitator obligations and will begin collecting where legally required. Stripe issues tax reporting forms (such as 1099-K) for connected accounts where thresholds are met. Nothing here is tax advice — consult your own advisor.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Seller Terms as the platform evolves. Material changes (including fee changes) are announced with in-app notice before they take effect. Continued selling after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
